While most magnetic hardware relies sheerly on the holding force
of a strong electro magnet, Adams Rite combines this force with
a spring loaded holding clamp. Here's how it works:
When the armature is pushed away from the magnet,
the magnet pulls a bit, moving geared holding clamps around the armature.
The additional clamps provide an incredible two tons (4,000 lbs.) holding force.
